Changes to Waste Transfer and Recycling Station during upgrade works

Monash Council will undertake upgrade works at the Waste Transfer and Recycling Station in Notting Hill, delivering essential safety improvements for both staff and customers.

The project will see the efficient and effective replacement of old, failed concrete blocks with a fit-for-purpose tipping area.

As a result of these works, scheduled to commence on Monday 31 May, the facility will be unable to accept tipping of some materials during construction. Customers may choose to unload this material manually.

In addition, some large vehicles and vehicle combinations may be restricted because of limited space.

The works will require the temporary relocation of the metal and concrete disposal areas to the existing general waste and green waste areas. Because of the nature of these works, arrangements may need to be adjusted throughout the construction period. Customers are reminded to follow all directions provided by facility staff.

The upgrade works are expected to take six to eight weeks.

Monash Mayor Brian Little said the works would provide a better and safer experience for customers.

"While customers should expect delays throughout these works, we look forward to providing an improved customer experience once the work is complete," Cr Little said.

Monash Council's Waste Transfer and Recycling Station is located at 380 Ferntree Gully Rd, Notting Hill.
