Chaotic Hodgman Government runs out of business

Tasmanian Labor
  • No Bills introduced in two days
  • Hodgman Government has no legislative agenda
  • The chaotic and dysfunctional Hodgman Government has not introduced a single Bill in the last two days in Parliament.

Leader of Opposition Business in the House of Assembly David O'Byrne said over the past five days of Parliamentary sitting the Government has had to bring on bills and motions that were not listed because they have no legislative agenda.

"This Government is flat out of ideas," Mr O'Byrne said.

"They are so focused on fighting among themselves that there is barely enough legislation to fill each day in Parliament.

"The community expects better in Parliament than this lazy, chaotic government.

"The Government has as yet failed to bring in its Magistrates Court Bill, which it publicised with much fanfare before the sitting fortnight.

"Make no mistake, while the jobless rate gets worse, the health crisis rolls on and thousands can't get a roof over their heads, Will Hodgman and his Government are doing nothing in Parliament to make their lives better."
