What will it take for people to realise that Enough’s Enough?

Yesterday morning around 8:00am police apprehended a 25-year-old female for speeding in the East Point, Fannie Bay area. Not only was the driver speeding but when police spoke to her it appeared she had been drinking heavily. Police conducted a breath test at the Darwin Watch House and she returned a Blood Alcohol Concentration of .163%. Further checks revealed that she had a five year license disqualification. , Northern Territory Police say

Senior Sergeant Angela Stringer said this is an example of the blatant disregard some people in our community have not only for their own lives but for the lives of others.

"Being behind the wheel of a car is a huge responsibility and when handled in the wrong way, cars are a dangerous weapon.

"If you don’t have a license and especially if you have lost your license for offending then you have no business being behind the wheel of a car," she said.

The driver was charged with drive with high range BAC, drive a motor vehicle while intoxicated and exceed speed.
