Charges follow series of burgs in north

Detectives from Hume Crime Investigation Unit have charged a man following a string of residential burglaries in Melbourne's north.

It is alleged 17 burglaries occurred between May and July in the Greenvale, Meadow Heights, Westmeadows, Broadmeadows and Jacana areas, where the offender targeted cash and small household items.

Yesterday evening detectives arrested a 32-year-old man from Meadow Heights.

He was interviewed and charged in relation to all 17 burglaries, as well as possess methylamphetamine, assault and resist arrest.

The man will appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court today.
