Charges following Nicholson fire

A woman has been charged following a fire in Nicholson on Wednesday night (7 November), Victoria Police say.

The blaze broke out just after 10pm at a home on Nicholson-Sarsfield Road.

A 36-year-old man suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to hospital for observation, while two girls, aged 4 and 6, were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

A 34-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to hospital for assessment.

She was later released and has today been charged with three counts of attempted murder.

The woman has been remanded to appear at Bairnsdale Magistrates’ Court on 20 February 2019.
