Charges laid after man stabbed in alleged DV assault in Zetland

A woman has been charged following a suspected domestic-violence related incident at Zetland yesterday.

Emergency services were called to a unit on Defries Avenue at Zetland about 2.15am (Saturday 2 February 2019), responding to reports a man had been stabbed.

A 33-year-old man was found inside the unit suffering stab wounds. He was taken to St Vincent's Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A 31-year-old woman was also taken to hospital for treatment for unknown injuries.

Officers from Redfern Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced investigations.

About 8.15am yesterday (Saturday 2 February 2019), the 31-year-old woman was released from Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and taken to Redfern Police Station.

The Zetland woman was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and contravene prohibition/restriction in apprehended violence order (domestic).

She was refused bail and appeared at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 3 February 2019) where she was formally granted conditional bail to reappear at Central Local Court on (Thursday 7 February 2019).
