Charges laid following investigations into armed robberies and property crime in South West Region

Two men have been charged following investigations into armed robberies, break and enters, stolen motor vehicles and steal from motor vehicle offences across south western Sydney earlier this month, NSW Police say.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit and Rosehill Local Area Command established a strike force to investigate a number of armed robberies, vehicle theft and property theft that occurred across the region in the past two weeks (30 June – 1 August 2016).

The crime spree involved three armed robberies, two attempted armed robberies, an aggravated break and enter, two motor vehicle thefts, and several steal from motor vehicle offences.

As a result of investigations detectives yesterday arrested two people at Auburn Police Station about 12.30pm

A 22-year-old woman was charged with aggravated break, enter and steal, take and drive conveyance (x2), robbery while armed/in company (x3), as well as larceny and breach of bail (x3).

A 19-year-old man was charged with aggravated break, enter and steal, take and drive conveyance (x2), robbery whilst armed/in company (x5) and larceny (x3).

Both have been refused bail and will appear in Burwood Local Court today.

An 18-year-old man was charged with robbery in company (x2) on 4 August 2016 as part of this investigation. He will next appear in Parramatta Local Court on 6 October 2016.
