Charges Laid: Over $275k Worth of Drugs Seized

A man will face court today charged after more than $275,000 worth of prohibited drugs were seized from a home in Sydney's west.

In June 2023, officers from Wetherill Park Region Enforcement Squad (RES) commenced an investigation into the supply of cocaine across Sydney's west.

Following inquiries, investigators executed a search warrant at a home in Concord West just after 7am yesterday (Wednesday 28 June 2023).

During a search of the home, police located 552.9g of cocaine, diazepam tablets, alprazolam tablets, 2.2g of methylamphetamine, 22.49kg of 1, 4 butanediol, 360g of suspected psylocibin, 7.28kg of benzocaine, 51g of barium sulphate, $19,310 in cash, and drug manufacturing equipment.

These items were seized to undergo forensic examination. The seized drugs have an estimated potential street value of more than $275,000.

A 29-year-old man was arrested at the property and taken to Burwood Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug large commercial quantity, two counts of possess prohibited drugs, possess prescribed restricted substance, and deal with proceeds of crime.

The Concord West man was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Thursday 29 June 2023).
