Charges laid over aggravated break in and inflict actual bodily harm in Weston, near Cessnock

A man will face court today following an aggravated break-in and inflict actual bodily harm at Weston, near Cessnock yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 2.30am (Sunday 19 November 2017), police will allege a 29-year-old man armed with a knife broke into a home on Ninth Street, and stabbed a 35-year-old man to the hand.

The injured man attended Cessnock Hospital for treatment.

Officers from Central Hunter Local Area Command were notified and commenced investigations.

Shortly after 10pm (Sunday 19 November 2017), officers attended a home at Coulson Avenue, Cessnock and arrested a 29-year-old man.

He was taken to Maitland Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter with inflict actual bodily harm, aggravated break & enter and commit serious indictable offence escape police custody, and resist officer in execution of duty,

The man was refused bail to appear at Maitland Local Court today (Monday 20 November 2017).
