Engagement of ARUP Group, GMU and Weir Phillips Heritage and Planning
Council initially endorsed the Chatswood CBD Planning and Urban Design Strategy 2036 at its meeting of 26 June 2017. Subsequently, the DPIE granted partial endorsement of the Strategy on 9 August 2019 and identified additional information and studies required in order for Council's adopted position to be accepted by the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE).
Following the DPIE letter of 9 August 2019 which provided partial endorsement of the Strategy, there was no additional work to be carried out regarding the B3 Commercial Core zone. The B3 Commercial Core was fully endorsed by DPIE subject to conditions, and the conditions were accepted by officers.
