Check in TAS Card

Jeremy Rockliff,Minister for Health

We’re continuing to keep Tasmanians safe by adopting new measures that make checking in as easy and efficient as possible.

Any person aged 16 years or older is currently required to check in using the Check in TAS app when they visit a range of business, organisations and events.

This simple and easy action helps to keep ourselves, our loved ones, and our community safe.

Although smartphones are the simplest and most effective way of checking in to locations, we know that there are circumstances where people aren’t able or choose not to use a smartphone.

That’s why we have introduced the Check in TAS Card for those people who would benefit from the convenience of a card that can be used to check in as an alternative to the other options.

This free card contains a unique QR code with your details to allow a business to scan with their device and check you in, providing a quick and private option where there is staff available to assist with check in.

With less than two weeks until we reopen our borders, we know that COVID-19 will soon reach our shores. Check in TAS is a tool that will support our contract tracking and tracing by identifying people that may have been exposed to a positive case of COVID-19.

Our number one focus remains the health and safety of all Tasmanians which is why it’s important that we do everything we can to minimise any risks to the community.

Applying for a Check in TAS card is easy and can be done on behalf of an individual if they are unable to do so through the coronavirus website: COVID-19 (health.tas.gov.au)

If you are unable to apply for a Check in TAS card online, contact the Public Health Hotline on 1800 671 738 for assistance.
