Chef Gives Advice on Crafting Regal Menu Before Coronation

HelloFresh
  • The British King's Coronation is two months away, to kick off proceedings a Coronation Toolkit has been released, which features information about the event and how to mark it.
  • And now a culinary expert has shared top tips on how to recreate the Royal menu at home, taking inspiration from the Toolkit.

  • Lamb, Asian-style marinade, aubergine and strawberry and ginger trifle are all included in the Coronation menu, but there's no coronation chicken in sight suggesting King Charles is adding his own stamp to the carefully crafted menu.

While the official coronation of King Charles II will not be held until May 6th 2023, organisers are getting prepared and have released a range of useful templates and materials to help you with your Coronation celebrations.

The Coronation Toolkit includes three suggested recipes to honour the king. For such a grand occasion, you would be right to assume that coronation chicken might feature as part of the big day, but according to the official website it doesn't make an appearance.

All three recipes are far removed from the simple coronation chicken invented for the late Queen's coronation. The menu has been curated by three well-known British chefs.

First up is chef Ken Hom's Coronation Roast Rack of Lamb with Asian-style Marinade, followed by Nadiya Hussain's Coronation Aubergine. For dessert is a British classic, Strawberry and Ginger Trifle curated by Adam Handling.

Experts at meal-box delivery HelloFresh has shared some tasty recipes inspired by the Coronation Toolkit with an Aussie twist, to celebrate the occasion.
