Cheltenham Cyclist Seriously Injured, Police Seek Witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was struck by a car in Cheltenham this morning.

It is believed the cyclist was travelling west bound on Centre Dandenong Road, when he was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Brownfield Street about 5.50am.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and render assistance to the cyclist.

The cyclist, a 53-year-old Dingley man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators believe the vehicle involved is a Nissan Navara utility.

They have released images of a vehicle of similar likeness in the hope someone will come forward with information.
