Child found in Campbelltown; police appeal to locate parents or carers

Police are appealing for assistance to locate the parents or carers of a toddler found in Campbelltown.

Just after 10am today (Saturday 25 April 2020), police were called to a mall on Hurley Street after staff members found a young boy wandering in the food court by himself.

Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended and searched the mall; however, were unable to locate the boy's parents or carers.

The boy, believed to be aged approximately 18 months to two years, was taken to Campbelltown Police Station while further inquiries are conducted.

Police viewed CCTV from the mall and saw the boy with a woman inside the food court just before 10am. The footage shows the woman leaving the area without the boy.

An investigation is underway in an attempt to locate the woman or anyone with information about the identity of the boy.

He's described as being of Caucasian appearance, with blond hair and brown eyes. The boy was located wearing navy track pants with a red stripe, a green long sleeve t-shirt, and a navy jacket. He wasn't wearing shoes.

The woman in the CCTV is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in her 40s, with a medium build, brown shoulder-length hair. She was wearing a purple blouse, black pants and white joggers.
