Child hit by car at Davoren Park, South Australia

A child was lucky to escape serious injury after being struck by a car at Davoren Park this afternoon.

The boy was crossing Peachey Road at a pedestrian crossing near Studley Road, Davoren Park about 3.10pm on Monday 1 April when he was hit by a car.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene.

The boy sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Women's and Children's Hospital for treatment.

The female driver of the car was shaken by the incident and treated for shock.

The road was closed briefly for northbound traffic, but Road Policing Section members were able to clear the scene quickly and reopen the road.

Investigations into the crash are continuing.
