Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 25-year-old man as part of an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding a young child receiving critical injuries.
The 30-day-old girl was taken by family to Armadale-Kelmscott Memorial Hospital on Friday night, 4 September 2020, arriving just before midnight. A medical examination of the child identified serious injuries that are believed to be life-threatening. It is believed the child received the injuries at her Gosnells home. The child remains in a critical condition.
A 25-year-old man from Gosnells, who is related to the child, has since been charged with Grievous Bodily Harm. He was refused bail and appeared in the Armadale Magistrates Court on Monday 7 September 2020, and is next due to appear in the same court today, Friday 11 September 2020.
The investigation is ongoing.
