I would like to congratulate all those students graduating from the Tasmanian Children's University, in what is a significant milestone for raising the aspirations of young Tasmanians.
Since its inception, more than 900 students have participated in the Tasmanian Children's University program, which has been administered in 42 Tasmanian schools.
The initiative rewards participation in learning activities such as sports, museums, environment and wildlife organisations, with students receive a stamp in their passport for each activity.
The Children's University is administered by the Peter Underwood Centre for Education Attainment, and comes as a joint initiative of the University of Tasmanian and the Tasmanian Government.
Tasmania was the second Australian state to adopt the program, which is based on a UK model that was first introduced in Australia by the University of Adelaide.
The Children's University shows young Tasmanians that learning isn't limited to a classroom, which is why the Government is proud to support the program.
