Join us in celebrating Children's Week from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November 2026. This national celebration recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children. This year's theme is: 'Children have the right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practise their religion.'
Supporting this is one of the many ways we can all create safe, supportive environments where every child feels heard and empowered.
We're proud to value all children, and want them to feel happy, healthy, safe and empowered to actively participate in our community.
As part of this year's celebrations, we're hosting a number of fun, engaging and educational activities - including a special Chinese Storytime at Balwyn Library where children can paint their own Chinese calligraphy to decorate the Belonging Tree.
Children's Week also coincides with Community Safety Month and Halloween, so there are plenty of fun activities and events on offer!
