China Southern Launches Daily Perth Flights for Summer

  • China Southern to operate daily flights between Guangzhou and Perth over peak travel period
  • Expanded services to deliver 29,600 inbound seats and boost visitation from key China market
  • Expanding Western Australia's aviation connectivity supports the Cook Labor Government's economic diversification strategy and helps grow tourism, jobs and local businesses

Western Australia will welcome more international visitors this summer, with China Southern increasing its Guangzhou to Perth service to daily flights during the peak travel season.

The uplift from 1 December 2026 to 10 March 2027 will deliver an additional 12,600 inbound seats on China Southern's Boeing 787-9 aircraft - a 75 per cent increase that could bring a total of 29,600 passengers from Guangzhou to Perth.

The expanded schedule will strengthen Western Australia's connection with mainland China, while also improving access from key international markets including Europe, Japan, North Asia and South East Asia through Guangzhou's extensive aviation hub.

Eligible transit passengers can also take advantage of complimentary overnight accommodation and free city tours in Guangzhou for transits of more than eight hours, making the journey to Western Australia more convenient.

The announcement builds on the successful return of China Southern's direct Guangzhou to Perth route in late 2024 and reflects the growing demand for travel between Western Australia and China.

China remains one of Western Australia's most valuable international visitor markets, with more than 68,000 travellers spending $411 million over a one-year period to March 2026.

The Cook Labor Government continues to strengthen Western Australia's international aviation network as part of its economic diversification strategy, making it easier for visitors to experience the State while supporting local tourism businesses and jobs.
