Cricket Victoria and CitiPower are proud to announce 18 clubs have been awarded funding supporting improved electrical safety and club services through the 2025-26 Canteen Grants Program.
Now in its eighth year, the program has reached a significant milestone in 2025-26, surpassing $500,000 in total funding delivered to over 130 community cricket clubs across Victoria.
Among those awarded funding is Carranballac Cricket Club, receiving $5,000 following the destruction of its clubrooms in the Skipton bushfires. The funding will assist the club as it begins the recovery and rebuilding process.
Cricket Victoria General Manager of Consumer Business Dylan Prescott said surpassing a key financial milestone highlights the long-term impact of the partnership.
"The CitiPower Canteen Grants Program continues to play a vital role in supporting local clubs and the volunteers who keep community cricket thriving," Prescott said.
"Reaching $530,000 in funding over eight years is a significant achievement, and it's especially meaningful to be able to support clubs like Carranballac Cricket Club as they take their first steps toward recovery following the Skipton bushfires."
"We're incredibly grateful to CitiPower for their ongoing commitment to strengthening clubs and communities across Victoria."
CitiPower General Manager Scott Russell said the grants program underscores CitiPower's dedication to safer, more resilient communities.
"We continue to receive a high volume of applications each year which demonstrates that we've tapped into a need to tackle electrical safety hazards in club canteens - areas that are often overlooked amid the day-to-day demands of running a club," Russell said.
"By giving clubs an opportunity to address these risks, we're helping to ensure that players, volunteers, and families stay safe, both on and off the field, allowing everyone to focus on the joy of the game."
