City asks Heathcote community for feedback on dog park sites

The City of Greater Bendigo is looking at three options for a new fenced dog park in Heathcote and would like local residents to have a say on the site they think is the most suitable.

The three options are located at:

Option A - Depot Road

Option B - Herriot Street

Option C - Pink Cliffs Road

Two listening posts to allow residents to have their say on their preferred location will be held at the Heathcote Bush Market between 9am and 12noon on Saturday July 6 and at the front of Gaffney's Bakery 109 High Street from 12 noon to 1.30pm on Tuesday July 9, 2019.

The City is also sending an information bulletin featuring the strengths and limitations of each site, direct to Heathcote households to encourage residents to choose their preferred site. Residents can also inspect displays boards at the City's Heathcote Customer Service Centre or at each of the potential sites.

City of Greater Bendigo Coordinator Public Space Design Aaron Lindsay said the City has allocated $85,000 in its 2019/20 Council Budget towards the project.

"However the first step in the process is to determine the most suitable site for the dog park," Mr Lindsay said.

"While all the sites are located within range of each other they have different strengths and limitations and we are now asking the community for their thoughts."
