City of Parramatta Council approves roadmap for future

City of Parramatta Council has adopted its draft Operational Plan and Budget 2019/20, detailing important projects and infrastructure that will be delivered for the community.

The Year Two Operational Plan and Budget is a core component of Council’s Delivery Program 2018-2021, a blueprint outlining how Council will implement its core services, activities, programs, projects, fees, and charges, over three years.

“The City of Parramatta is experiencing a bold transformation, driven by unprecedented investment and rapid population growth. The Operational Plan and Budget best positions us to embrace the exciting opportunities this significant change will bring,” City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Andrew Wilson said.

“Our roadmap for the future ensures Sydney’s Central City continues to provide vitally important infrastructure and services for our residents, businesses and visitors.”

Council has budgeted $191.3 million towards capital expenditures this financial year to deliver major strategic projects for the community, including the:

  • Parramatta Square development
  • Wentworth Point Community Centre and Library
  • Parramatta Urban Amenity Improvement Program
  • City River Program of Works to revitalise the Parramatta River
  • Phillip Street Smart Street Stage 1

Council reviews the Operational Plan and Budget annually to ensure activities are on track with its Delivery Program and priority goals.
