City of Stonnington appoints interim CEO

The City of Stonnington is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Thomas as interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO), following the departure of Warren Roberts after nearly a decade in the role.

City of Stonnington Mayor, Cr Steve Stefanopoulos was pleased to announce that Simon Thomas, current General Manager, Assets and Services, was unanimously appointed as interim CEO at the Council Meeting on Monday 18 March.

"Mr Thomas is a highly regarded member of the leadership team of the City of Stonnington and we are looking forward to working with him as interim CEO," said Cr Stefanopoulos.

"While we are sad to lose Mr Roberts, I am confident that Mr Thomas will help steer the organisation in a positive way while we recruit for a new permanent CEO," added Cr Stefanopoulos.

Outgoing City of Stonnington CEO, Warren Roberts said he was pleased to be handing the reins to Mr Thomas.

"Mr Thomas is a strong leader and has extensive experience with major projects and stakeholder management.

"I have enjoyed working with Mr Thomas and have every confidence in his ability to perform in this important role and will continue to assist with his transition," said Mr Roberts.

Mr Thomas' appointment will take effect Monday 25 March.
