Geelong residents are being invited to capture the City through their own lens, with entries now open for the annual Geelong Calendar photographic competition.
This year's theme, 'Your City, Your Eyes', encourages people of all ages and abilities to submit photos that showcase the beauty, character, and unique spirit of the Geelong region.
Previous competitions have produced striking images of Geelong's waterfront, hidden laneways, local wildlife, and colourful community events, with everyday moments becoming lasting visual stories.
Mayor Stretch Kontelj OAM:
There is no better way to showcase the City than through the people who live here. This competition is a fantastic way for the community to share what they love about the City.
Every year we are amazed by the creativity and talent on display, and we can't wait to see Geelong through the eyes of our community once again.
This is just another way people can show how much Geelong means to them.
Councillor Eddy Kontelj chair of the Arts & Culture, Hospitality & Live Entertainment portfolio:
You don't need to be a professional photographer to enter.Whether you're a seasoned photographer or just enjoy snapping pictures on your phone, we encourage everyone to have a go.
Your photo could be the next highlight in the Geelong Calendar, inspiring residents all year long.
Entries are now open, giving the community a chance to get out and capture the essence of what makes the Geelong region so special.
Photos can be submitted via the City of Greater Geelong's website here .
Submissions close on Tuesday 30 September, after which the public will have the chance to vote for their favourite shots.
Winning images will be featured in the 2026 Geelong Calendar, which will be available to collect from mid-November.
If you are physically unable to collect a calendar you can register to have a copy mailed to you. The registration form closes Friday 21 November. A single distribution will occur in December.
