City responds to new restrictions following lockdown

The City of Greater Bendigo will adjust the delivery of some services in response to the new COVID-19 restrictions following the recent lockdown.

Wearing masks indoors is mandatory, so anyone visiting a City facility must wear one. It will also be mandatory for customers to check into these facilities via QR code or registering their details with staff, and staff will be checking IDs.

The Bendigo and Heathcote Visitor Information Centres will re-open tomorrow, Friday June 4.

Customer Service Centres in Bendigo and Heathcote will re-open on Tuesday June 15 following the long weekend. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to log a customer request at www.bendigo.vic.gov.au/requests, email [email protected] or phone 5434 6000.

For those yet to pay their fourth rates instalment, rate payments have been extended until Monday June 21 and can be paid online at www.bendigo.vic.gov.au/rates or in person at a Bendigo Bank or Australia Post branch.

Bendigo Art Gallery, The Capital and Ulumbarra theatres and The Engine Room, and indoor swimming pools and gyms at Gurri Wanyarra Wellbeing Centre and Peter Krenz Centre will all remain closed until Thursday June 10, when it is expected the Victorian Government will make further announcements regarding restrictions.

Refunds for tickets to Mary Quant: Fashion Revolutionary that were booked while the Gallery is closed will be processed automatically and may take up to 10 days. For shows at The Capital, Ulumbarra or The Engine Room, staff will be contacting ticket holders to advise of their options as some shows may be rescheduled but refunds will also be offered.

City staff will support gyms and fitness businesses to move classes outside and book space free of charge. A list of available locations and an online booking link can be found at https://www.bendigo.vic.gov.au/commercialfitnessbookings and further assistance is available by emailing [email protected]
