City takes over management of Portarlington Hall

The City has taken over the management of Portarlington's Parks Hall.

A range of community programs will now be available at the hall, and bookings for functions and events can be made through the City at www.geelongaustralia.com.au/halls

The City has taken over management of the facility from Bellarine Bayside Foreshore Committee and has been working closely with the committee and regular users of the hall to ensure the change of management causes minimal disruption to existing users.

The City will undertake some improvements to the hall, including creating additional office space and a new reception area.

Works will start this month and are expected to be completed in July 2019.

Following the completion of these works, the Portarlington Neighbourhood House will become a tenant at the hall, relocating the majority of its programs to the important community facility.

To keep the local community informed of any changes at the Hall, the City is hosting a community information session in the coming weeks.

Bellarine Ward Councillor Jim Mason:

Council is really pleased to take over management of this important community facility.

Parks Hall is an important community facility which caters for a range of local community programs as well as events, concerts, weddings and festivals.

We'd like to thank Bellarine Bayside for its ongoing management of the hall and assure community users and groups that the facility is open and available to them.
