Civic teams keep municipality clean

Mitchell Shire Council's Civic Presentation Team have been hard at work beautifying the municipality, making sure the presentation of each town is meeting community expectations.

The team is tasked with cleaning surfaces and collecting loose rubbish laying around the main streets of towns. The team have raised the bar with their work on:

  1. Cleaning built up grime off visible surfaces
  1. Removing graffiti and notices from light and street poles
  1. Fixing and re-painting rubbish bins
  1. Cleaning up bus shelters - including graffiti removal
  1. Sanding and re-staining of street furniture and bollards

Mitchell Shire Council is working hard to improve the liveability of the municipality and will continue to lead by example.

We are putting a great deal of effort into improving the look and feel of our township's main thoroughfares and are removing mess, litter and graffiti as quickly as possible.

Marking, tagging or graffitiing any surface is a crime and you will be prosecuted.

If you see something that could do with a bit of extra love, let us know by calling Mitchell Shire Council on (03) 5734 6200.

If you see anything suspicious or you know of somebody who has graffitied a wall, please contact CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.

As noted by Mitchell Shire Mayor Cr Bill Chisholm

"Our amazing Civic Presentation crew have been hard at work and we thank each and every one of them for their hard work. It takes a lot of work to keep our region looking so wonderful and they are the unsung heroes," he said.

"While we appreciate the work they do, we please ask all community members to help out in this regard. If you are at a public park, please put all rubbish away in the bins provided or take it with you

"It is disappointing to see so much graffiti in our towns and we please ask that you report suspicious activity such as this to CrimeStoppers."
