A NSW Police civilian employee has been charged over an alleged domestic violence incident in Sydney's south earlier this week.
About 2pm yesterday (Friday 22 May 2026), officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command received a report of an alleged domestic violence incident.
Police were told a 51-year-old man had allegedly assaulted a 14-year-old girl known to him at a home in Bangor, on Thursday (21 May 2026).
Following inquiries, about 7pm yesterday, police attended the address and arrested the 51-year-old – a staff member attached to a specialist command – before taking him to Sutherland Police Station.
He was charged with common assault (DV).
The 51-year-old was granted conditional bail to appear before Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday 27 May 2026.
The man's employment status is now under review.
