Clarence Valley Youth Week Program Named Best In State

Clarence Valley Council's annual Youth Week program has been named the Best Youth Week Program at the 2025 NSW Local Government Week Awards, held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney on Thursday 7 August 2025.

Held in April each year, Council's program celebrates the voices, ideas and contributions of young people across the Clarence Valley.

Clarence Valley Council's General Manager Laura Black said she was thrilled to attend the event and accept the award on behalf of the staff who deliver the events each year.

"Youth Week is such an important week in the Clarence Valley. This recognition reflects the hard work, creativity and community-first approach of our staff" Ms Black said.

"To see our efforts in youth engagement acknowledged at a state level, its amazing."

Additionally, Clarence Magazine, Council's quarterly publications was also recognised at the awards, named as a finalist in the RH Dougherty Awards – Events and Communications (Population 30.000 – 100.000) category.

Clarence magazine is structured in line with Council's four-year Delivery Program and annual Operational Plan to provide clear and transparent information to the community, focusing on five key strategic themes: Community, Infrastructure, Economy, Environment, and Leadership.

"Clarence Magazine is our innovative way of telling our community how Clarence Valley Council's projects and services that are shaping a community full of opportunity, as outlined in our Community Strategic Plan.

"We are proud to be acknowledged for the success of Clarence Magazine in connecting and informing the community through compelling local stories, achievements and events," Ms Black finished.
