Clean is gold in Beijing

Sport Integrity Australia has today released its Beijing Winter Games eLearning Course to help Australia achieve a Clean, Fair Games.

Developed in conjunction with Drug Free Sport New Zealand (DFSNZ) and United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) in a cross-agency collaboration, the course is designed specifically for Olympic and Paralympic athletes and support personnel. It includes information on:

  • who will be conducting testing at the Games
  • when the in-competition period starts
  • how to file Whereabouts during the Games
  • international medications and TUE processes

and much more.

Sport Integrity Australia CEO David Sharpe urges athletes and support personnel to complete the course and continue Australia's reputation for competing clean and fair.

"Sport Integrity Australia will do everything we can to make sure this reputation stays intact and to do this education is the key," Sharpe says.

The course focuses on the anti-doping rules, advice on food and supplements, competition manipulation rules and in- and out-of-competition periods to help eliminate the stress about your test - or retest.

All samples can be saved and retested for up to 10 years.

"Science does catch up with the cheats and reputations can be destroyed in an instant," Sharpe says.

Designed in collaboration with the USADA and DFSNZ, the Beijing Winter Olympics course is part of our ongoing global partnership to enhance integrity education worldwide.

The course is now available online for athletes, support personnel and other members of the Australian Olympic and Paralympic communities.
