Clean Up Australia Day is held on the first Sunday of March every year and encourages people to clean up their local areas. Participants can host or attend clean ups organised by local community groups, which can be found on the Clean Up Australia website.

The annual Clean Up Australia Day was first started 20 years ago by founder and Chairman Ian Kiernan AO, who passed away on 16 October 2018. Australians have devoted 36 million hours to cleaning up the environment, through Clean Up Australia Day removing the equivalent of more than 380,000 ute loads of rubbish.

The Business Clean Up Australia Day staff engagement and team-building events are a great way for organisations to connect their teams through shared experiences. The next Business Clean Up Day is on Tuesday 1 March 2022 but you can run a Business Clean Up event any day of the year!

A School Clean Up Day is a great way to inspire your young people to learn about the impact of rubbish on their local environment while playing an active role in their community. Register your school and work together on School Clean Up Day on Friday 4 March – it can be the school grounds, a local park, or maybe bushland near your school – it’s up to you.
