Clean Up Australia Day: Bayside

Twelve community groups helped collect 1.4 tonnes of rubbish in Bayside on Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday 3 March.

Every person that volunteered has made a positive impact in preserving the beauty of our parks, waterways and beaches.

Bayside Council supports Clean Up Australia Day each year by helping site supervisors locate suitable areas as well as:

  • Arranging disposal points.
  • Removing hazardous or problematic material.
  • Disposing and / or recycling rubbish collected in the day.

Bayside residents have embraced Clean Up Australia Day and over the years have helped remove tonnes of waste from our foreshore areas, bushland and parks.

The bulk of rubbish collected in Bayside on the day generally consists of cigarette butts, PET bottles, glass bottles and more recently disposable face masks.

Thank you to everyone who participated in Clean Up Australia Day this year.
