Cleaning equipment stolen in Wonthaggi burglary

Bass Coast Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a burglary at a shopping centre in Wonthaggi last month.

It is understood an unknown man attended the centre on Biggs Drive about 9.35pm on 1 August and then again on 7 August.

Police were told he gained access through the staff entrance of the premises and forced entry to a secure maintenance area.

He stole cleaning equipment worth approximately $5000.

Investigators believe the man put the items in a vehicle and fled the scene.

Police have released CCTV footage of a man they believed may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is believed to be aged in his 40s-50s and approximately 185cm tall.

He was last seen wearing a grey Shimano brand hoodie, Tradies brand tracksuit pants and work boots.
