CleanStream Adds To Its Awards Tally

ZURICH, November 28, 2025 - Amcor (NYSE: AMCR, ASX: AMC), a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions, has received further accolades for its CleanStream® recycling technology in the shape of two awards from two leading industry events, which celebrate innovation and exceptional performance in their sectors.

At the Plastic Industry Awards, CleanStream was named recycler of the year, and at the mrw National Recycling Awards, the technology took home the prize in the packaging circular economy category. There was further success for Amcor at the Plastics Industry Awards, where Miklos Argyelan from the company's Norwich site was named apprentice or trainee of the year.

As well as its two awards, CleanStream was also nominated in the Material Innovation category at the Plastics Industry Awards and for Recycling Facility of the Year at the mrw National Recycling Awards.

"We are thrilled that our CleanStream technology has received such great recognition from these prestigious industry awards," said Nigel Purcell, plant director, Amcor CleanStream Leamington Spa. "The ability to produce the highest quality post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic is critical to ensuring that plastic continues to play a major role as the world transitions to a circular economy."

CleanStream was conceived to create the ideal PCR polypropylene (PP) that could be made available at scale to meet the growing demand from companies throughout the UK and Europe. In this way, it adds value to the commodity of waste PP by keeping resources in use.

Amcor CleanStream Leamington Spa recycles nearly 40% of all the collected and sorted PP waste in the United Kingdom. The state-of-the-art facility replaces simple based sorting with multiple sorting steps, using AI technology, including automated identification, sorting and decontamination to deliver very high levels of polymer purity.

These consistent physical properties and good aesthetics enable the polymer to be included in greater percentages in all types of packs, particularly those which require a high degree of shelf impact and/or functional performance. This allows brands to develop attractive, high-impact packaging with a lower carbon footprint compared with using virgin polymer and, at the same time, meet increasing consumer demand for more sustainable packaging and satisfy the requirements of legislation such as the Plastics Packaging Tax and PPWR.

The latest awards for CleanStream follow the winning of the CSR Initiative category at the Luxe Pack in Green awards in September.
