Two close workmates from Cleveland will forever cherish the moment they checked their Saturday Gold Lotto ticket together and discovered their exhilarating $2.2 million win in the weekend's Superdraw.

The Redland residents were among the nine division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4583, drawn Saturday, 21 June 2025. Each division one winning entry pocketed $2,222,222.23.

"Thank you very much! It's life-changing for the both of us," one of the winning pair revealed.

"We've been working together for 20 years, and we always go halves in a ticket together. We never expected to actually win division one.

"I called my mate while he was at work, and he checked the ticket on his phone. He didn't believe it at all! He just kept saying,' Are you joking? Is this real?!'. He probably thought it was a prank.

"He has since told his wife who didn't believe the news at all.

"We've both been over the moon - waiting for your phone call all weekend!

"I've taken the day shift off today and we're going to go in together to claim the prize. It's so exciting."

When asked how he planned to enjoy his share of the multi-million-dollar prize, the jubilant Greater Brisbane local said that reducing his mortgage and taking a holiday were at the top of his list.

"I'll pay off the mortgage and go on a holiday for a couple of weeks," he revealed.

"Not too sure on the destination, but now I've got a little bit of spare cash, I can go a lot further!

"My mate will also pay off his mortgage and help his family."

The winning duo, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry at Birkdale News & Lotto, Shop 4, Birkdale Fair Shopping Centre, 196 Birkdale Road, Birkdale.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4583 on 21 June 2025 were 6, 24, 10, 42, 1 and 30, while the supplementary numbers were 18 and 16.
