Goulburn Mulwaree Council is pleased to advise that works on the new roundabout at the intersection of Clinton and Deccan Streets, Goulburn, are nearing completion, with the intersection expected to reopen to traffic on Monday afternoon - 25 May, weather and site conditions permitting.
The project was scheduled for completion by the end of June 2026; however favourable construction progress has allowed the works to be completed ahead of schedule.
The West Goulburn Freight Route (Clinton Street) Upgrade Project, including the rehabilitation of Clinton Street, has involved construction of a single-lane roundabout, pavement reconstruction, drainage improvements, utility adjustments, signage and line marking to improve safety and traffic efficiency at the intersection.
Final works currently being completed include:
- Asphalt works
- Turfing and site clean-up
- Line marking, signage and bollard installation
The reopening remains subject to weather conditions and the submission and review of completion documentation.
Council thanks residents, businesses and road users for their patience and cooperation throughout the construction period and acknowledges the temporary inconvenience caused by road closures, detours and construction activity.
This project is funded by the Australian Government under the Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program, supporting safer and more productive roads, in conjunction with Goulburn Mulwaree Council.
