Cloudflare outage causes worldwide web outage

Many major websites and services were unreachable for over 30 minutes on Tuesday due to issues at Cloudflare network.

The outage seems to have started at about 06:34 AM UTC and lasted for about 35 minutes before connections began to be restored.

Cloudflare's own website cloudflare.com was down as well, returning 500 error during the outage.

"The issue has been identified and a fix is being implemented.

A critical P0 incident was declared at approximately 06:34AM UTC. Connectivity in Cloudflare’s network has been disrupted in broad regions.

Eyeballs attempting to reach Cloudflare sites in impacted regions will observe 500 errors. The incident impacts all data plane services in our network," Cloudflare said on its status page.

Most of the websites came back online from about 06:09 AM UTC.

The company was cryptic in its reference to the incident - the term "P0" doesn't really explain what happened, it is just a category used in incident prioritisation where P0 means Critical, P1 High, P2 Medium, and P3 Low.
