The Finocchiaro CLP Government has marked its first year in office, highlighting decisive action to reduce crime, rebuild the economy, and restore the unique Territory lifestyle.

Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro said the past twelve months show a government that is keeping its promises and restoring confidence across the Northern Territory.

"We came into government with a clear mandate to make the Territory safer, stronger and more secure - and that's exactly what we've done," Mrs Finocchiaro said.

"The first year was about action, certainty and security. We've backed our police, held offenders to account, supported victims, and provided Territorians with confidence in the future of our economy and lifestyle."

Within its first eight weeks, the CLP Government passed a suite of stronger laws to support frontline workers, crack down on youth crime and anti-social behaviour, and expand police powers.

"After years of going backwards, the NT is back in business - we are now leading the nation in economic growth and population growth," said Mrs Finocchiaro.

"Our Rebuilding the Economy Strategy is about giving Territorians confidence - confidence to invest, confidence to build, and confidence to plan for the future."

"We've cut red tape, we've fast-tracked approvals, and we're making the Territory the best place in Australia to live, work, visit and invest."
