As we continue to actively monitor the events related to nuclear safety in Ukraine, we want to reassure Canadians that the nuclear power plants in Ukraine remain stable. There is no immediate radiological threat to the areas surrounding these facilities or to Ukraine, neighbouring countries, or Canadians.
We continue to work with our Canadian counterparts and members of the International Nuclear Regulators Association to gather information and to coordinate the assistance provided to both the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Ukrainian nuclear regulator.
