Coaches replacing Gippsland line trains

Coaches will replace Traralgon and Bairnsdale trains for the entire journey from 8pm on Tuesday, 11 January until last service on Thursday, 10 February for level crossing removal works.

Services will be replaced by a mix of express, semi-express and stopping-all-station coach services.

The Level Crossing Removal Project will see 85 level crossings removed across metropolitan Melbourne, in addition to other rail network upgrades such as new train stations, track duplication and train stabling yards..
