MidCoast Council
The Coastline Community Foundation delivered more than $5,000 for the Aboriginal families cultural connections program.
These funds enabled Council to deliver six workshops including The Art of Printmaking and an Aboriginal Family History program in Taree.
The printmaking workshop allowed the local Aboriginal community to explore the art of printmaking while celebrating culture, stories and identity. Participants learned traditional and contemporary techniques to create their own unique prints inspired by Country, ancestors and personal journeys.
The family history program helped Aboriginal families trace their history and cultural connections. Through research support, storytelling and access to archival records. The initiative empowered community members to reconnect with their heritage and preserve their legacy for future generations.
The Coastline Community Foundation partnership was established to help make a difference to the lives of children and young people by inspiring creative minds and building a lifelong interest in arts and culture.
Since its inauguration in 2002, the Coastline Community Foundation has provided over $1,000,000 to over 200 Mid North Coast causes. The Foundation's goal is to support lasting benefits to local communities.
Each year Coastline provides five percent of its operating profit to the Coastline Community Foundation. The foundation has a focus on the communities of Macleay, Hastings, and Manning Valleys.
