Cocaine and cash seized in multi-agency sting

Three men will face court today charged with serious drug offences after a recent multi-agency operation.

Yesterday, Thursday 10 March, following an investigation, Australian Border Force (ABF) officers and Detectives from Serious and Organised Crime Branch (SOCB), attended and searched a Fulham Gardens address. Inside officers located approximately of 3.87 kilograms of cocaine. The cocaine has a street value of approximately $1.6 million.

As a result of the initial search, a number of other premises throughout the western and north eastern suburbs were also searched resulting in the seizure of $504,000 cash, four vehicles and two motor cycles allegedly used in connection with the trafficking of illicit drugs.

A 37-year-old Findon man, a 28-year-old Seaton man and a 24-year-old Broadview man were arrested and charged with attempting to traffic in a large commercial quantity of controlled drugs. They were refused bail and will appearing in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today, Friday 11 March.

Detective Acting Superintendent Denise Gray from SOCB said; "These arrests and seizures are another example of SAPOL working together with Australian Border Force, Department of Home Affairs and the Australian Federal Police to apprehend people who attempt to import large amounts of illicit substances South Australia that cause great community harm. It is an example of the determination of the SAPOL Serious and Organised Crime Branch to bring these offenders to justice and confiscate their assets."
