Cocaine, Cash, Knife Seized After Surry Hills Arrest

A driver has been charged after police allegedly seized several bags of cocaine, over $10,000 cash and a knife during a vehicle stop in Sydney this morning.

About 2am (Sunday 21 June 2026), police were patrolling the Surry Hills area when they located a Hyundai hatchback allegedly driving dangerously on Flinders Street.

Police stopped the hatchback a short time later Chisholm Street, where they spoke to the driver – a 19-year-old man – and searched the vehicle.

During the search, police located and seized 31 bags of cocaine with an estimated street value of $9,300, $14,300 cash and a knife.

The driver was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was charged with:

  • Custody of knife in public place
  • Supply prohibited drug more than indictable & less than commercial quantity
  • Deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100,000 & less than $5,000
  • Negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm)

The man was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Local Court 7 today.
