Coercive Control Charge Filed in Kandos DV Case

A man has been charged with domestic violence offences, including coercive control, following an investigation in the state's west.

In June 2025, officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District commenced an investigation following reports of domestic violence incidents committed against a 54-year-old woman by a man known to her in Kandos.

Following inquiries, a 46-year-old man was arrested at Goulburn Police Station on Friday 20 June 2025.

He was charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic) and use carriage service to menace/harass/offend.

Further investigations were conducted, and police will lay an additional charge of intend abusive behaviour coerce/control intimate partner (DV) when the man faces Mudgee Local Court today (Wednesday 11 February 2026).

Police will allege in court the man imposed control over the woman's daily life and movements, including sending her money transfers in order to communicate with her.

Police will further allege the man paid people to follow the woman and report back to him.
