Collision in Altona turns fatal

A cyclist has died in hospital after being struck by a car in Altona earlier this month.

The collision occurred on Kororoit Creek Road on Sunday 11 September about 11.45am.

At the time of the collision, the cyclist, a 57-year-old man, sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

The Ascot Vale man died in hospital on 24 September.

At the time of the collision, the male driver, a 48-year-old Point Cook man, stopped at the scene to assist the injured man.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating.
