Collision on Western Ring Road

Police are investigating following a collision on the Western Ring Road in Sunshine last night (1 February).

Investigators have been told four vehicles were observed racing near the Furlong Road on ramp about 11pm.

The cars split up on the Western Ring Road and a short time later one of the cars, a black Holden Commodore sedan believed to have been racing, collided into the back of a vehicle travelling on the same road.

The four occupants of the offending vehicle, a female and three males, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries despite two of them being ejected from the vehicle on impact.

The male driver and female passenger in the other car were not seriously injured.

Investigators are hoping to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the vehicles prior to the collision.
