Committee meetings cancelled due to lack of quorum

The standing committee meetings, scheduled for 5:30pm Monday 10 May have been cancelled, due to a lack of quorum. With fewer than six Councillors able to attend tonight's committee meetings, there is a lack of quorum, meaning that there aren't enough members present to make the proceedings of the meeting valid.

According to the Local Government Act, in accordance with the Code of Meeting Practice section 5.14, the Mayor may in consultation with the CEO, and as far as practicable, with each Councillor, cancel the meeting.

As a result, Acting Mayor of the Dubbo Region Councillor Stephen Lawrence contacted Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) CEO Dean Frost to notify him of the intention to cancel tonight's Committee Meetings.

All reports for the cancelled meetings will now be included into the agenda for the Monday 24 May Ordinary Council meeting.
