Council has outlined its plans for the next four years in response to the community's renewed vision for Monash.
Monash Mayor, Cr Paul Klisaris, said this is Council's commitment to the Monash community.
"Our Community Vision captures our community's long-term aspirations, and our Council Plan outlines how we will work towards achieving this vision over this term of Council.
"This is our commitment to the Monash community and will work alongside other plans for health and wellbeing, community assets and revenue to guide our day-to-day operations and shape our longer-term decisions and financial planning.
"This includes the services we provide, the projects and facilities we invest in and how we will support the health and wellbeing of our community and environment.
"This work was guided and informed by extensive community engagement that included surveys, listening posts, conversations with Council's advisory committees and a representative community panel.
"Through this engagement, our community confirmed its support for the existing vision that Monash is the most liveable city in Victoria by 2040 and identified clear themes to support Council and our community to achieve this.
"Hundreds of people have contributed, and I thank everyone involved," said Cr Paul Klisaris.
New strategies and plans endorsed by Council include:
- Community Vision to guide Council's decision-making and respond to our community's long-term aspirational needs.
- 2025-2029 Council Plan to set the strategic objectives, strategies and indicators that will guide Council towards supporting our Community Vision.
- Health and Wellbeing Plan to identify health priorities for Council to consider in future planning.
- Revenue and Rating Plan to identify the appropriate revenue and rating approach for the Council to ensure financial sustainability.
- Asset Plan to set a framework for how we oversee and upkeep our infrastructure and other assets.
Consultation on a Finance Plan will take place separately in the coming months.
