Community gets on board Moama Lights event

Murray River Council

Murray River Council will soon lift the curtain on its exciting new festival Moama Lights.

And in true community spirit several local partners have also come on board to help light up the Murray.

Presenting Partner Moama Bowling Club is throwing their support behind the event, as too is Quest Echuca in their role as Silver Partner.

Rich River Golf Club, Echuca Moama Tourism, Echuca Moama Accommodation Association and Border Inn Hotel have also thrown their support behind the must-see night-time attraction.

Mayor, Chris Bilkey said the backing of the local businesses highlights the unified approach taken to ensure the local industry gets back on its feet.

"The support of our local partners really does show how we can work together as a community to deliver interesting and attractive events to help reboot the local economy."

"We are all working together to ensure we have an attraction that both the local community can enjoy and one that that may convert visitors into staying around a little longer; eating at our local venues or staying overnight."

"Together we will deliver a spectacular attraction that showcases the immense beauty of the local land, its people and history."

An immersive sound and light trail showcasing the story of Echuca Moama, Moama Lights will feature light installations and projections including theatrical fog, strobe and cutting edge moving light technology.

Through three different acts - Echuca Moama indigenous culture, riverboat heritage and present-day life - visitors and locals will witness a new and exciting way of getting to know the local area.

The show will run each evening during the period of 8 to 22 May 2021, at Horseshoe Lagoon.
