Does your community group need some extra cash money? Now is your chance to get your hands on some dollars that will really make a difference.

Kempsey Shire Council's Community Grants Program is back with new additions to help the shire bring residents benefits and of course, more fun!

The 2022-23 program features are a bit different but still has the classic funding streams of the Mayoral Community Fund, Environmental Levy and Sporting Grants.

In an exciting addition, Council is introducing Quick Grants for four community celebrations being Festive, Youth Week, Seniors Festival and NAIDOC Week. Community groups wanting to host events during these occasions are eligible to apply for $500 to help them out.

Kempsey Shire Council Acting Coordinator Community Development, Paul Koch, said the goal of the new Quick Grants categories help groups bring the community together through celebrations.

"We're really looking to inspire groups to hold more events that do wonders in connecting the shire and build a stronger community," said Mr Koch.

"The Community Grants Programs provides opportunities for a wide range of groups to access funding to do amazing things in the shire and for the community."

Applications open Monday 12 September and close on 23 October 2022.

Recommendations for funding are made through a competitive application process with applicants required to meet the Community Grant Program's Eligibility Criteria.
